Fixed Gear Classic
Three days of speed and excitement! June 10-12, 2011
Kicking off the 2011 Nature Valley Bicycle Festival will be the MN Fixed Gear Classic. This thrilling event brings world class track cycling to the NSC Velodrome for three days in June.
The MN Fixed Gear Classic pits professional and elite amateur track cyclists in fast-paced sprint and grueling endurance events. The 2010 MN Fixed Gear Classic, saw US National Champion Cari Higgins (Peanut Butter & Co/TWENTY 12) dominate both the sprint and endurance omnium on the Women's side while young up and comers Colton Barrett (Texas Roadhouse) and Matt Baranoski (Alliance Environmental) took the Men's endurance and sprint omnium respectively.
The 2011 MN Fixed Gear Classic will feature a unique dual omnium program that showcases separate competitions for sprinters and endurance specialists. Cross-over races will bring sprinters and distance racers together in search of omnium points.
Events are scheduled for:
Fri June 10th - Racing at 6pm
Sat June 11th - Racing at 10am
Sun June 12th - Racing at Noon
